Delete Contacts Fast - DeleteQ App Reviews

I have had a chronic problem with my iPad contacts that Apple Care was unable to help with. The only solution they could give me was to do a factory restore and put everything back on my iPad manually as iCloud backup just brought back the problem. What problem? 238,189 contacts in my AddressBook database. iOS 6 has no way to delete these contacts. I could turn off all contacts in settings but this doesnt delete the AddressBook db. When i try to turn on iCloud contacts I get a message telling my that iCloud will merge its contacts with the ones already on my iPad... not what I want. Thats where my problem was. Other apps that I tried (apps designed to dedupe contacts) crashed trying to load my AddressBook db. After searching forums someone recommended this app and for the first time I actually got a record count and can see why most apps crash when trying to access my contacts. So far DeleteQ crashed once when trying the "remove duplicates" function. Now Im just going to delete all contacts and then try turning iCloud contacts back on. So far its deleted 599 of 238,189 contacts without crashing. Wish me luck. Update (24 hours after initial purchase): app works well however it only deletes about 3000 contacts at a time and then the progress indicator speeds up significantly. At about 60% or so the app crashes. When I restart the app the new total record count drops by about 3000. Evidently nothing is deleted when the progress indicator speeds up. So I only have to try this 67 more times to completely delete my contacts (201,477 to go). Hyoungnae if you can read this please take note and see what you can do. Thanks. Update: 8/6/13 (day 5 w/DeleteQ) - after keeping at it day & night, this app is working. After getting below 200K contacts the delete duplicates actually gets past the 3000 limitation (see above). As the number of contacts continues to decrease, the app continues to work better. This morning I awoke to a "Success" message instead of a crashed app and only 7000 contacts. I just selected all and am deleting these remaining contacts. What a chore!

I had 480 contacts on an ipad that I wanted to delete. The app has the option to select all, so it was as simple as select all> delete. Why Apple does not have this as an option is beyond me. When you have multiple devices using the same account it can be tricky to not affect the other devices when you use iTunes to change content on one device. This app worked for me and I recommend it.

Does not work. Opens and quickly closes. I want a refund

I have the iPhone 5s and purchased this app to clean up my contacts but all it does is crash. It has privacy permission to my contacts and still instantly crashes. Dont buy until its fixed.

Awesome awesome app, totally worth the $1, my wifes phone contacts synced with my phone and my laptop is broken right now, and it was a great quick fix to get over 100 contacts of my phone!

Crash constantly. Wont work

I love the app. It did what it said it would. However, when I deleted the contacts, it deleted them from everyones phone that is under the same iTunes account as I. Is there a way to get them back?

Crashes when deleting contacts even with privacy settings as recommended. Do not waste your money

Great app but it crashes if you have a large number of contacts. I have 2522 and when I try to select easy it just bombs.
